Rhinestone collar: Prince’s surprise visits over all too soon
Partiers at Lavo were treated to a brief yet thrilling surprise Monday morning as they suddenly found themselves in the presence of music industry royalty.
Prince briefly stopped by the intimate nightclub around 1 a.m. but left within minutes.
“It was dreamlike it was so fleeting,” said one star-struck observer.

The six-time Grammy Award winner wore a black tunic with rhinestone collar as he and a tall female friend were shown to their VIP table overlooking the dance floor.
Instead of partying like it’s 1999, witnesses said the pair left almost immediately, much to the disappointment of on-looking fans.
It wasn't clear why the "Purple Rain" icon left so quickly, but perhaps he was partied out from the night before. On Sunday morning he and a female companion were spotted in a VIP sky box at Lavo's big sister nightclub at the Venetian.
The pair kept a low profile at Tao after making their late arrival at about 2 a.m.
The artist’s quick visit to the Palazzo on Monday came just hours after he made another surprise appearance in Sin City.
Earlier in the night the 50-year-old star shocked concertgoers at the House of Blues when he unexpectedly appeared onstage during a Q-Tip concert and gave a short yet exciting performance.
He joined the hip-hopper onstage during a rendition “Vivrant Thing," and took over lead guitar.
“Prince just walked onstage, took the guitar from [a] Q-Tip bandmate and started playing the song,” a witness said. “The whole thing was unreal. [The] crowd went crazy and then he just walked out. It probably lasted, like, two minutes but it was a great two minutes.”
Q-Tip also pulled double Vegas duty on Sunday. The versatile former A Tribe Called Quest frontman assumed the role of DJ after his show and took to the turntables at The Bank in the Bellagio.
