Homie don’t play that anymore

“For the last 12 years, I’ve been this guy, ‘Homie’ … and then you wake up one morning, and that whole part of your life is not there anymore.”

That’s how 28-year-old Holmes Pooser, better known to Las Vegas radio listeners as Xtreme personality Homie, describes his recent downsizing from the station he’s called home since arriving from Reno in December 2000. “You can’t take anything for granted in an economy that’s taken a blow,” says the longtime music director and production director for 107.5-FM. “I absolutely love Las Vegas, and I’d prefer not to be anywhere but here, but who knows if Las Vegas—or even radio—will continue to be in my future.”

It Hurts When I Pee MySpace

Pooser’s departure also leaves an uncertain future for “It Hurts When I Pee,” the independent- and local-themed Sunday-night show he hosted throughout his eight years at the station. “Our goal was to provide people with the music they wished they could hear on the radio,” he says. “Pee” did not air on November 9, and according to Xtreme program director Chris Ripley, there are no immediate plans to restart it, although Ripley insists it will “definitely” return at some point, in some capacity.
